ANOTHER TRIBUTE TO GARR CRANNEY
|
|
History of Reading News. Vol.XX No.1 (1996:Fall) Rosemary Weber, University at Albany SUNY, writes: I was very sorry to hear of Garr Cranney's death. Before joining the History of Reading SIG, I knew his work on adult reading, especially his useful integrative piece, "Two decades of adult reading programs: Growth, problems, and prospect," in Journal of Reading 26 (5), 1983, as well as a subsequent bibliography in the journal. (This was a time when not much attention was being given to the issues.) On reflection, I realize that these are pieces on recent history, showing his constant interest in historical questions. |
