Compiled by E. Jennifer Monaghan from the History of Reading News, 1976 to 2002

The following autobiographies, memoirs, and biographical essays were all originally published in the History of Reading News, the newsletter of the History of Reading Special Interest Group of the International Reading Association. In addition to autobiographies (A), the listing features memoirs--indicated by (M)--that were written by someone who knew his or her biographee personally. Biographical essays (B) were written either by the editors or by authors who did not know their subjects personally but who researched their lives.

All reprinted articles must refer to their original publication in the History of Reading News. The article should have a reference to this at the beginning or end of the reprint. An example follows: "Reprinted with permission from the History of Reading News 12, no. 1 (Fall 1988): 1."
